Ian and Hugh are exceptional hosts unlike anywhere else. Nestled in the enchanting French countryside with breathtaking views and a tranquil atmosphere, Le Manoir des Fouilloux exceeds all expectations.

The spacious en-suite rooms are tastefully decorated with plenty of space in the communal areas inside and outside of the house itself. We spent hours of an evening catching up over a glass of wine on the terrace whilst overlooking the swimming pool and miles of local land in complete peace.

With many highlights of our stay, one of which was the swimming pool given the heatwave we experienced during our stay. Plus there are plenty of sun beds and seats around the pool (we were a family of 6) making it an incredibly relaxing stay.

Another highlight was locally where we thoroughly enjoyed visiting St Emilion, a lovely drive through the vineyards led us to a wonderful day out. We explored the town’s cobbled streets, popped into the unique independent shops and visited the historic landmarks with beautiful views. We may have purchased a few bottles of local wine!

Ian and Hugh go above and beyond to make a stay at Le Manoir memorable. Their warm welcome and helpful tips on the local area added a personal touch that made us feel at home as soon as we arrived.

Le Manoir is a true gem and it’s Ian and Hugh that make it so.

Our 3 week stay at Le Manoir was more than we could ever have asked for. Ian and Hugh were amazing hosts, they have created a wonderful home in a really peaceful location. We enjoyed cooking in the courtyard kitchen and spent lazy days by the beautiful salt water pool surrounded by lovely gardens and countryside.

There are some good restaurants within easy driving distance and places of interest to visit such as Bergerac, Brantome, Aubeterre sur Drone and the bastide towns of Montpazier and Sarlat.

Our holiday at le manoir more than met our expectations! A beautiful house in peaceful countryside, every room was carefully decorated and filled with interesting pictures, books etc….and the bathrooms were modern and worked! The gardens were lovely, so much space, and an oasis of peace…..until our grandchildren leapt into the swimming pool and squealed with delight for the whole of the week!

Le Manoir exceeded all hopes for our holiday. From the fabulous furnishings and personal touches both outsideand inside to the wonderful selection of coffee table books in the lounge, absolutely everything had been thought of to make our stay special. We had a wonderful week making memories with our adult family. A perfect patch of paradise!

Ian and Hugh have created an oasis of tranquility in the French countryside. From the warmest of welcomes to the fondest of farewells, every day in between was perfection. Whether running around the local area keeping teenagers amused or just lazing by the pool, Fouilloux is an absolute haven. The huge kitchen table is perfection for playing cards or just chatting to the rest of the group when getting one of the many meals ready. Cooking in the Moroccan courtyard kitchen just adds another dimension and another perspective of the property to enjoy!! The swimming pool is perfect at every time of the day, the lounger’s comfortable enough to sleep even with the splashing going on around. There is nothing not to recommend about Fouilloux, you will not fail to have the best holiday ever; we have, twice. And we’ll go back for more!!
